ROM Celebrates Year of India with an Exhibition of Bollywood History

In March, the Royal Ontario Museum announced its new exhibit titled Bollywood Cinema Showcards: Indian Film Art from the 1950s to the 1980s. It will consist of 120 pieces embodying the quirky and colourful style of India’s cinematic culture with a display of rare, vintage showcards – colourful hand painted photo collages commissioned to advertise the release of Bollywood films.

The exhibit will be open from June 11 – October 2.

Looks like all off Ontario is getting into the Bollywood spirit this summer, with events happening all across the Greater Toronto Area – all leading up to the highly anticipated IIFA Awards.
