The White Tiger – To be on the big screen

I must say I am a little apprehensive about this book being adapted into a movie. Whenever a book is so well written, I am usually disappointed in the film adaptation. I read this book a few years ago and absolutely loved it!
It is written by Aravind Adiga “The White Tiger”, narrates the story of Balram Halwai, a politically incorrect rickshaw driver who struggles to escape his lower caste and poor upbringing by taking a driving job for a wealthy boss – and winds up committing an unthinkable crime. The main theme of the novel is the contrast between India’s rise as a modern global economy and its working class people who live in crushing poverty.
If you haven’t had a chance yet – make sure you read the novel before the movie is out in theaters!
